What is Canada Express Entry?

The Canada Express Entry system is designed to be a faster and more efficient way for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada. It is important to note, however, that meeting the minimum requirements for one of the three economic immigration programs does not guarantee an invitation to apply for permanent residence. The number of invitations issued is based on the annual immigration targets and the CRS cut-off scores, which can vary from draw to draw.

To apply through the Express Entry system, potential immigrants must create an online profile and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The EOI includes information such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors that are used to calculate a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residence through regular draws that are conducted approximately every two weeks.

Applicants who are invited to apply for permanent residence must provide additional documentation to support their application, such as police certificates, medical exams, and proof of funds. The IRCC aims to process applications within six months.
