954 Express Entry candidates with tech experience have been invited by Ontario in the latest draw as on 15th January 2020

Ontario and Saskatchewan in total competition with each other as both the provinces are actively contributing in fulfilling the targets set by IRCC for the year 2020. The draw released as on 15th January 2020 targeted candidates with work experience in 6 tech occupations only. Please find below the list of tech occupations which got lucky this time:

  • Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
  • Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
  • Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
  • Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
  • Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
  • Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)

954 invitations have been qualified Express Entry candidates with work experience in the a fore mentioned occupations to apply Canada PR through Provincial Nominee Program. Candidates who have Comprehensive Ranking System scores amid 460 to 472 on the basis of factors such as age, education, work experience and language proficiency receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from OINP. A NOI gives away an applicant 600 extra points towards the CRS scores effectively guaranteeing an Invitation from Federal Express Entry System in the forthcoming CRS draw.

OINP’s launch of tech draws last year helped the province to meet the growing labor market gaps for technical professions as the province holds the major cities known as the tech hubs of the country namely Toronto, Ottawa and Waterloo. The cherry on the cake is that job offer or arranged employment is not a mandatory requirement to be eligible to apply OINP.

In order to be eligible for OINP under Tech Draw must have a profile registered under the Federal Skilled Worker Class or Canadian Experience Class managed by the Federal Express Entry System.
