The Express entry program is a skilled based selection of the foreign workers for Canada Immigration. It is a point-based channel of relocation to Canada as per which the applicants need to create an express entry profile with all the details of their education work experience, language skills, age etc and they are put in the express entry pool. Based on the credentials of the applicants the scores are calculated and the candidates are assessed for their capabilities in quantifiable terms and ranked against each other with the help of CRS score calculator. Those applicants who meet the benchmark score as decided by the latest express entry draw are shortlisted and they received the Invitation to apply (ITA).
The interest applicants can apply for Canada immigration through any of the three sub streams of express entry program
The Federal Skilled Workers Program is commonly referred as the 67 point calculator and it is for those applicants who have never lived in Canada before. To be selected the applicants should have a minimum score of 67 out of 100 points.
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for those applicants who are interested to work in skilled occupations like transport.
The Canadian Experience Class program is for the applicants who already have Canadian experience and now would like to settle in Canada permanently.
In May 2023 The IRCC started a new Express entry draws pattern which is also known as the Category based express entry draws. As per which the applicants whose occupations are in high demand in Canada, they will be selected for immigration faster. These draws are conducted simultaneously with eth regular express entry draws by the IRCC from time to time.
The six occupations which are listed under Category based express entry draws are –
To understand how the express entry draws work one should understand its main component. The main features of the IRCC Express Entry Draws are –
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based tool used by IRCC to rank candidates in the Express Entry pool. It calculates the points of every applicant based on factors such as age, education, language proficiency, and work experience. The highest-ranking candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
Once the applicant is in the pool they are marked out of 1,200 points. For single applicants without a spouse or common-law partner:

Meeting the CRS score requirement is crucial for being selected by the IRCC for Express Entry Program. Thus, every applicant tries the best to meet the CRS score requirement. It is not always that the score requirements are met but the applicant can resort to different ways to meet the CRS score requirements and these are –
The core factors because of which we have witnessed a high latest CRS score in the last few years are –

The Next Express entry draw cannot be predicted by anyone. However, there can be strong assumptions made based on the recent IRCC pattern of draws.
In 2024, the category based Express Entry draws have remained unchanged, but IRCC is expected to expand the list in 2025. New categories may include education occupations, as well as roles in natural resources . This will change the priority and draws of IRCC with 30% of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) allocated to candidates in the French proficiency category, 25% to STEM occupations, and 15% to healthcare roles. The remaining 30% will be divided among trades (5%), transportation (3%), agriculture/agri-food (0.5%), and general draws (21.5%).
However, since the target under the 2024-2026 Canada Immigration Levels Plan for the new permanent residents number through Express Entry will increase year-over-year, from around 90,000 in 2024, to 110,770 in 2025. There is an expectation of high economic immigrations in the coming months.
