Employer Requirements for the In-Demand Skills Stream
Employers also have to meet specific requirements for their job offers to be eligible under the in-demand skills stream. Let's explore these
- The employer must have been in active business for at least three years before submitting the application.
- They must have business premises in Ontario where the applicant will work
- Employment Standards Act, 2000 or the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Additionally, the employer must demonstrate efforts to recruit Canadian citizens or PR holder before offering the position to a foreign worker.
Applicant Requirements for the In-Demand Skills Stream
In-Demand Skills stream, you must meet specific requirements to be eligible for nomination. Here are the applicant requirements:
Work Experience: You must have at least 9 months of cumulative paid full-time work experience same in-demand occupation as your job offer. This work experience must have been gained within the three years prior to submitting your application, while legally living and working in Ontario.
Language Skills: You must be able to understand, read, write, and speak either English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher.
Education: You must demonstrate an intention to live in Ontario after being granted permanent residence.
