3,300 CEC candidates invited by Canada in the latest express entry draw

IRCC held another Express entry draw, that issued a total of 3,300 invitations to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates on August 20th. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was set at 454 points to get an ITA for Canada PR Visa.

The previous CEC-specific express entry draw had the CRS score cut-off set at 445 points, this increase is mainly due to more number of candidates being entered into the express entry pool.

Since Canada closed its borders due to coronavirus, IRCC has held the program-specific draw like inviting express entry candidates with the provincial nomination and CEC candidates for PR Visa. Yesterday, a PNP-specific draw was held that invited a total of 600 express entry candidates with a provincial nomination.

IRCC used their tie-breaker rule in today’s round of invitations. The tiebreaker is used to rank candidates who have the same CRS cutoff score based on the date and time of their profile creation.

The tie-breaker rule for today’s draw was implemented on July 27, 2020, at 11:10:05 UTC. This means that applicants with a CRS score of 454 points were only invited if their profile had been submitted before that date and time.

This draw brings the total number of invitations issued in 2020 to 65,750.
