Saskatchewan conducts another draw for skilled workers from Express Entry and Occupations in demand sub categories who have applied Canadian Permanent Residency through Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program wherein 525 invitations has been allotted as on 12th November 2019. This provincial nominee program is affiliated to Federal Express Entry System managing pool of applicants from three different immigration programs precisely Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Out of all the 525 invitations, 303 invites went to Express Entry Candidates and 222 invites went to Occupations in Demand candidates keeping both the eligibility requirements in their place. The candidates who received an invitation under the express entry category were immediately granted an extra 600 points towards their CRS score guarantying a visa approval, however Occupations in Demand category is open for all candidates who hold an experience in one of the occupations from the in demand list. These are the most popular categories as these can be filed without job offer. Both the sub categories require minimum of one year experience related to the field of study.
Till date 5,229 invitations has been issued to candidates since 25th September 2019. The draws held till 25th September 2019 has targeted a vast assortment of suitable professions in which human resource managers, database analysts and administrators, drafting technologists and technicians, and power engineers and power systems operators have been focused majorly.
To be eligible under SINP through any of the above mentioned sub-category candidates first need to have an active Express Entry profile with Saskatchewan as a choice of province. Eligible EOI profiles for both the categories are issued points on the basis of age, education, work experience, language ability, job offer etc. out of 100 as per the SINP International point grid. This score decides an entrant’s position in the EOI pool and according to the points the highest-scoring entrants are given an invitation to apply through regular draws conducted by the SINP. Saskatchewan says it makes occupation-specific selections “so that nominees with positive employment prospects in Saskatchewan are selected and applications do not exceed employment demand.”
