How can nurses apply Canada PR from India?

Nurses are an integral part of any society as they take care of the healthcare system of the regional and national population of the country. Clearly speaking, there are two subcategories under which nurses can conveniently apply for their Canada PR visa. The subcategories are Express Entry Program and Provincial Nominee Programs that are explained below:

Express Entry Program for Nurses

Nurses with at least one year of work experience and have secured a job with a health care institution can apply under the federal skilled worker program. The process of applying is simple and explained below.

  • Fill up the express entry Form by entering the details about yourself like age, educational qualification, work experience etc.
  • Once you have filled up the required particulars, you will receive your points under CRS point calculator.
  • If your CRS score is above the cut-off, you can Apply for Canada immigration

Provincial Nomination Program for Nurses

Each and every province of Canada has its own immigration pathway called the Provincial Nomination Program. This pathway also offers two sub-categories – the regular pathway and the occupation in-demand stream. Just as with the Express Entry program, you will have to fill up an online immigration form and on the basis of your score, you might receive a PNP nomination.

Similarly, the occupation in-demand category also requires you to fill up the online form and show that you have enough experience and qualification to find work in the particular province once you move there.  To find out if the nursing profession is in high-demand in the particular province of Canada you want to move to, you should check out the NOC list of that particular province.

It is important to note that all PNP immigrations except for the Quebec immigration program are done through the Express Entry program.  Once you get the Provincial Nomination, you will get 600 points towards your immigration. This will essentially guarantee that you get selected for immigration and once you have received the invitation to apply, you can apply for PR visa to the IRCC. Once you get that, all you have to do is to move to Canada with the proper documents.

Another important thing to remember is that if you are applying through the Occupation in-Demand Stream, either through the Express Entry program or through the Provincial Nomination program, you will need to provide a proof of funds documents. This document should show that you have enough funds to support yourself and your family in Canada for at least 3 months. These funds must not be borrowed from anywhere and should be readily available for you to draw and use as and when required.

Nova Scotia Immigration for Nurses

Nova Scotia is the mecca of services in Canada. It is situated on the eastern coast of the nation and boasts of having one of the most densely populated cities in the entire country. A lot of people immigrate to Nova Scotia to take advantage of its consistently growing economy and high standard of living. To correspond with its rising need for healthcare, Nova Scotia has regularly been recruiting nurses from all over the world to come and work in the province’s healthcare industry.

Notes: As Nova Scotia has one of the biggest healthcare systems in the country, the chances of finding gainful employment are many. While you only need 1 year of working experience and a minimum qualification degree to apply, it is highly recommended that you get at least 3 years of working experience and at least a Master’s degree in nursing before you apply. This will virtually guarantee your selection and also ease the process of you looking for a job in Canada.

Another important advantage from having the above mentioned qualification is that you can even get appointments from Canadian recruiters who are looking for nurses to work with their organization. If you have a particular specialty like obstetrics, oncology or palliative care, then you should check out the biggest nursing companies in this domain and see if you can connect with them professionally.
