On Decemebr 10 Canada held a new Express entry draw.
The invited candidates had previously received a nomination through a
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), adding 600 points to their baseline human capital score. As a result, the minimum threshold for this draw was 698.
Since the launch of Express Entry in 2015, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has only held 38 PNP draws. Most of the time they send less than a thousand invitations except for this draw and the June 23 draw where 1002 were invited.
IRCC has only been running PNP draws since September. This is now the seventh consecutive draw of this type. In the previous Express Entry draw, IRCC invited 613 applicants with scores of at least 737.
