First draw of the Month saw 3,400 invitation to apply for  Canada PR as on 8th January 2020

First Express Entry Draw 2020

The year 2020’s first Express Entry Draw released by IRCC, Canada issues invites to 3,400 Express Entry candidates with minimum score of 473 or more for Canada Permanent Residency. The renowned Express Entry System of Canada is considered the major source of filling in the labour market gaps with foreign skilled workers through express entry managed three skilled immigration programs namely Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class. All the candidates falling under these three programs are issued scores under the Comprehensive Ranking System wherein each eligible candidate is allocated scores on the basis of their age, education, language proficiency of French/English, work experience etc., according to these scores candidates are ranked in the Express Entry Pool and the highest scoring candidates are then issued an ITA through draws held every fortnightly.

The best thing of applying under this category is that job offer is not at all a mandatory requirement, however, if somebody has an job offer then they get additional points towards their CRS scores. 6 months is the minimum time taken to process applications under Express Entry system for Canada PR.

2020 and 2021 brings in a lot of hopes for aspiring applicants through various programs under the Express Entry system. This year the targets set by IRCC, Canada is 85,800 whereas for the year 2021 the targets have been increased by 3,000 ITA’s that is 88,800. A part of these targets can be fulfilled by Express Entry linked Provincial Nominee Programs as well. Nine provinces along with two territories are a ray of hope for applicants with lesser CRS scores or lesser IELTS scores as an invitation to apply from any of the PNP’s will add on 600 points towards the applicants CRS scores effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to apply for Canada permanent residency.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie-break time and date of December 27, 2019, at 13:35:09 UTC in this draw. This means that all candidates with a score of 473 who submitted their profile before this date and time received an ITA.
