IRCC in the latest express entry draw invited a total of 3,900 express entry candidates held on August 5. In order to get invited, candidates were required to get minimum of 476 CRS points.
Express entry draws with 3,900 ITAs issued through Express Entry, has been held every two weeks for most of 2020. On July 8, IRCC held a draw for all programs before reverting to program-specific draws on July 22 and 23, suggesting it could start to alternate between these two types of draws as things slowly return to normal.
The number of ITAs issued in 2020 was not affected by the temporary policy changes and remained constant throughout the year. The year began with two draws of 3,400 ITAs each in January, followed by a draw of 3,500 ITAs and a record 4,500 ITAs in February. Since March, IRCC has organized 21 raffles and issued nearly 40,000 ITAs.
The latest express entry draw was the 25th draw of this year and brings the total number of ITAs issued to 61,600 which is a new record for this date.
The higher CRS threshold is a function of FSWP candidates to get an ITAs. Today, ITAs were sent to applicants with higher CRS scores who would otherwise have been invited in the previous months had the coronavirus pandemic not affected IRCC’s Express Entry policies.
