Manitoba’s immigration program hit new heights on July 27. The province invited 1,140 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination – the largest number ever in a single draw.
Express Entry candidates eligible for Skilled Workers Overseas stream
- Number of LAAs issued: 1,140
- Ranking score cutoff: 557
It broke the previous record on June 28, when the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 1,017 Express Entry candidates.
All candidates in the new draw have been invited to apply for a provincial nomination under the Skilled Worker Abroad stream. They must have previously submitted a profile to the Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) system and have obtained an EOI score of at least 557 to receive the Notice of Application (LAA) letter.
This score is calculated based on the Manitoba EOI Scoring Matrix. It is not the same as the federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for Express Entry. There was no CRS requirement for this draw.
That being said, if invited nominees receive the Manitoba provincial nomination, they will automatically get 600 points added to their score. It is not unique to Manitoba. Any Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) linked to Express Entry will offer the same reward, placing provincial nominees at the top of the list to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
