217 Invitations Issued By Manitoba in Its Latest Draw to Candidates with Expression of Interest

Day by day all provinces have become quite active and are giving tough completion to the Federal Express Entry System. As we can see consecutively one or the other province has been releasing its draw. This time Manitoba has once again issued 217 invitations to candidates with an EOI profile in the latest draw released on 28th February 2020. This was the 84th draw held by Manitoba wherein LAA’s (Letter of Advice to Apply) were distributed amongst three immigration streams stated below:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 161
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 24
  • International Education Stream: 32

Out of the 217 LAAs issued in this draw, 20 went to candidates with profiles in the Express Entry system.

Express Entry Candidates

Express Entry system is a way of segregating cream candidates as per the requirements of the maple country. It is a simplified process of managing applications for three of Canada’s immigration programs namely Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and&Canadian Experience Class. Basis of All candidates who qualify for the Express Entry managed program are then awarded CRS scores on the basis of factors such as age, work experience, education, language proficiency etc., here the highest scoring candidates are then bestowed with ITA for applying Permanent Residency through the Express Entry draw. With invitation from the province, one automatically sores up high on the CRS scoreboard by adding up award points of 600 towards their secured CRS scores, efficiently ensuring an Invitation to apply from IRCC in the forthcoming draw. A major point to be considered for a provincial nomination Program from Manitoba is that Express Entry candidates must have eligible work experience in one of Manitoba’s in-demand occupations. They must also submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.

Expression of Interest

An Expression of Interest is an online profile creation portal where candidates are ranked out of a score of 1,000 on factors like education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French etc. Candidates with highest scores are awarded with a LAA, permitting them to apply provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence from Manitoba.

To be eligible for grabbing an ITA from Manitoba through both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, applicants need to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP. In the latest draw, candidates invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream had a score of 499 and The lowest-ranked candidate invited from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream had a score of 707.

Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba

Skilled Workers Overseas Category permits MPNP to choose skilled foreign workers who can indeed help the labor market of Manitoba with their capability. Candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives to be able to get selected under this category of MPNP.

The 24 candidates who got lucky to be invited by Manitoba through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Candidates invited through this stream must be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer.

Manitoba international student graduates with in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream. This stream comprises of three sub-categories namely Career Employment Pathway,Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
