On Oct 7th Canadian Province Nova Scotia held the new draw.
Nova Scotia held two new draw one time inviting total number of invitation 330 express entry candidates with skilled work experience.
In the larger of the two draws, 286 people were invited. This group had a job offer in Nova Scotia and at least one year of work experience in a skilled occupation. They also needed a Canadian Language Proficiency Level (CLB) of at least 5 in English.
Invited applicants from both categories have until November 6 to apply to the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Here are the criteria for each draw in brief:
- have a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer for full-time skilled work in Nova Scotia that lasts for at least one year after your permanent resident visa is issued (full-time means working the entire year and at least 30 hours per week);
- have one year of qualified work experience related to the job;
- have a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent;
- prove their English language skills at Canadian language proficiency level 5; and
- Apply no later than 11:59 p.m. on November 6, 2021.
Documents you must provide with your application include:
- Copies of language tests
- Proof of education
- A job offer indicating your title and the job functions related to the job offer, the CNP code of the position, the annual salary, the number of weekly hours, the duration of the job offer, the work address and whether the position is unionized. If so, attach a letter indicating the union’s agreement.
Draw for 44 carpenters
In order to be invited, candidates must:
- Have a main occupation of carpenter (CNP 7271).
- Provide reference letters from employers, as outlined in the application guide, to demonstrate that they have at least two years of skilled trades experience as a carpenter. (Self-employed workers must provide third-party documentation showing the service provided as well as payment details. Major duties or self-declared affidavits are not acceptable proof of work experience.)
- Have a Canadian linguistic benchmark score of 5 or higher in English in all language skills, as demonstrated by providing your results on a language test approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada; and
- apply no later than 11:59 p.m. on November 6, 2021.
The province has set a goal of increasing its population from 971,000 to two million people by 2060. To do so, Nova Scotia will need to welcome large numbers of immigrants and promote retention of immigrants. A 2020 survey suggested that the primary determinant of whether or not immigrants stay in Nova Scotia depends on available employment opportunities. Of the immigrants who arrived between 2011 and 2018, about 74% stayed in the province.
