Ontario issues additional 700 invitations to Express Entry and Skilled Trades Stream candidates

Ontario once again actively issues 667 invitations to candidates from Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream in the year 2019. The add on nominations announced in the last month of the year brings the total number of invitations for candidates to apply Canada PR to 7,350 under Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) Provincial Nominee Program. The Program set for Canadian provinces and territories  allows them to invite set number of eligible candidates from the three Economic Immigration Classes – Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class to become a Permanent Resident of Canada.

The additional nominations permits OINP to carry on dealing out applications and issue nominations on top of its original 2019 allocation of 6,650, which OINP has reached.

Through Express Entry System:

This Wednesday has brought along a lot of good news for Express Entry Candidates as 3,200 individuals were granted invitations through The Express Entry System and 667 individuals were granted Notification of Interest (NOIs) through OINP Express Entry Skilled Trades stream. This stream is the main source of filling in the Labour market gaps of the province with skilled professionals as it allows the province of Ontario to hunt the Express Entry pool for candidates with work experience in eligible skilled trades to apply Canada PR through Provincial Nominee Program. The draw released as on 11th December 2019 issued NOI to Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 410 wherein the Federal Skilled Express Entry Draw went up to 472.All the candidates who received an NOI from Ontario will be considered under the OINP’s 2020 nomination allocation.

The so called Human Capital Priorities stream has brought in the most number of Notification of Interest’s out of all three sub categories. Till date 7,000 NOI’s have been issued to candidates awarding them with 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking system score ensuring a sure shot invitation in the upcoming draw released by IRCC for Canada PR.

Through Temporary Foreign Worker Stream

Ontario Immigration Nominee Program proclaimed that 250 more nominations for temporary Foreign Workers with experience in any occupation under skill level C under Canada’s NOC (National Occupational Classification) will be processed under OINP’s in demand skills stream. These nominations are an element of a federal initiative released this year itself created 2,000 additional PNP spaces this year.
