Canada once again issues 3,200 invitations to candidates dreaming of Canada PR with minimum score of 469 or more as on 19th December 2019. This time the Comprehensive Ranking System score dropped by 3 points raising a lot of hopes for the coming year. The lower cut-off score in today’s draw is the result of short time span between two draws resulting in the drop in the CRS cut off.
When draws are released in shorter intervals, less candidates get a chance to enter their applications in the pool which results in lessening of the cut off. If we include this draw then the total number of invitations in the year 2019 sums up to 85,300, which is 4,500 ITA’s short of the 89,800 ITA’s issued in the year 2018 which indeed has been the maximum number of ITA’s till date through Express Entry System which handles the candidates from three major immigration categories namely Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class wherein candidates are ranked on the basis of their age, Qualification, work experience, language proficiency and job offer.
A job offer is although not a mandatory requirement to be eligible for an invitation to apply (ITA) through Express Entry Program but if an individual has one then he/she gets additional CRS points.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie-break time and date of 14th November, 2019, at 08:41:33 UTC which signifies that all candidates with a score of 469 who submitted their application in the pool before this date and time received an ITA in this draw.
Provincial Nomination Program This Year
Provincial Nominee Program will have a vital role in the year 2020 as the admission targets have been raised from 61,000 to 67,800 where a part of it would be managed by the Express Entry system. Nine provinces and two territories have “enhanced” PNP streams that are directly or indirectly linked to the Express Entry system. These stream permit them to choose candidates from the Express Entry Pool inviting them to apply Canada PR through provincial nomination, the best thing about applying through these provinces and territories are many that some have low or even no CRS score requirements.
Candidates who receive an ITA through any of the Provincial Nomination Programs receives an additional 600 points toward their CRS score which guarantees an ITA in the upcoming draw.
“With Canada’s larger targets for 2020 and 2021, there’s always the chance of larger draws and possibly even quicker draws — and that would be great news for Express Entry candidates with lower CRS score.”
